Ain't Nobody Here
You're not being silly, just a concerned chicken mum . Giving them a once over once a week is absolutely fine (I often forget for a lot longer than that ).
Fur 'n' Feathers
We're in the same boat and they have been fine. It's us that haven't - chicken withdrawal syptoms prevail throughout winter for us. Maybe there should be a CAD light (chicken affective disorder)
chickiepiggies
yes i'm worried about chicken withdrawal, never had mine through winter, so its all new. i know i will miss them. when i come in from work they made my day seeing there little faces light up when they heard the conservatory door open, and i let them into the garden to play i'm so sad!! Sarahsausage
I'm going to miss seeing my girls too Also they won't be able to free range when I get home from work! I might let them out in the morning for half an hour before I go to work so they can stretch their legs. Oh I will miss them
JanTheDiver
I too have just had my first full day away from my girls and have missed going out to see them during the day. I have been working at home but will need to go in the office more now. I just had to retrieve the eggs after they had gone to bed and felt awful about disturbing them They didn't seem to mind too much and I got a stroke from two that I can't normally get too close to, so that was good; they were sleepy I suppose

chick wiggle
Yep, your definately not on your own, we work full time and not seeing them on a night is awful, just a peek in the nest box when they're all sleepy just isnt the same, lots of strokes are nice though
