Guest
Hi I have a Krups Espresso maker and it has lasted 2 years despite descaling etc anyone recommend a good one? This one just doesnt want to work anymore...bad buy! Cost £98 in JLewis someone has recommended Kitchen Aid but it is a bit expensive Is there a cheaper one (dont even mind if its one for the hob etc) just like the frothy bit on the top too. Any recommendations of coffee makers or a good way to make that Espresso thanks indie

TAJ
I want one of the Dualit cream ones http://www.dualit.com/products/espressivo-coffee-machine/cream . Our new cooker is cream, so we got a Dualit cream toaster & kettle to match, this has to be next on the list. It would be good to here if anyone has had one of these and who they got on with it. Janty
I've got a Nespresso machine and we love it. If you like espresso then try one out at John Lewis. They have regular tasting sessions and often have money back offers.
Guest
I have a stove top one - excellent. I use a little frother to get frothy milk if I want to bother. I used to have a proper espresso maker - after I realised it was over a year since I'd used it I put it on freecycle.

I think this is more traditional type but what one have you got please?? was looking at these stove ones. Thanks for all the replies interested in the John Lewis tasting session, when I got mine from John Lewis the chap told me not to go for the v expensive ones as he reckoned they all do the same We only went for a cheapie and came out with £100 but there were more ones ie £500+ a lot of coffee but he convinced us to get the one we ended up with! Any other opinions please am debating which is the best option Thanks indie

Guest
I did have a Biallti one - but Mum put it in the dishwasher and ruined it. The one I have now has a cermic pot on top which CAN go in the dishwasher. I have to say it's very simple and very easy to use. I found Amazon cheapest first time and bought the second one at the Ideal Home Show.
debbier
I've had a Gaggia Classic for a few years now, and use it at least twice a day. I am a complete coffee nut though. It does make "proper" espresso, and has a steam wand. Not cheap: around £200-300. There is a massive difference between this and cheaper alternatives in terms of the pump and pressure, but it depends what you are after. I also have a burr grinder, and use freshly roasted beans, as it's the only way to make a decent shot at home. I get my coffee from Has Bean, on the internet, and would highly recommend them as suppliers. They roast the beans within a day or so of shipping. Janty
Here are the current John Lewis nespresso machines. I have a basic model that is not listed here. I would like a nice, swish automatic one but ours keeps going. We have had it for about three or four years and the dozy thing works as well now as the day we got it. http://www.johnlewis.com/Search/Search.aspx?SearchTerm=nespresso
