glowingsheep
We now have three eggs. Two delightful little brown eggs from Betty and one corker from Petunia. How have other Eglu owners celebrated the arrival of their first eggs?! We're contemplating some lovely boiled eggs and soldiers, but then there's scrambled eggs on toast with a twist of black pepper. I'm a bit too impatient to wait for enough for an Omlet. mgfarmer
sandy and brandy laid eggs on arrival, we have had our hens for 5 days now and think that brandy (mrs pepperpot ) is the one laying. We celebrated our first egg laid in the morning (which also happened to be my birthday)by boiling it and sharing between all four of us!! glowingsheep
We thought we'd let you know what we did in the end... We've ampled two of Betty's eggs - on a nice, homemade fiorentina pizza Very tasty they were too! Ros & David

jak
We received four eggs over the first two mornings from our two. We poached them and served them over muffins melted with cheese - scrummy!

arowland17
I fired our 1st ones, then made cakes the other day with 2 more. OH still hasn't eaten any, says he doesn't like the idea of having them knowing they have come out of our chickens behinds but I've just given him a run-down of where supermarket eggs come from and the conditions they're kept in and if he wants to support that kind of cruelty when we have to happy hens in the garden then he does it on his own!! he has just agreed to having fried eggs on toast for his lunch!! arowland17
OH loved his eggs!! ended up eating all 4 of them, he couldn't believe how much tastier and just thicker they were compared to shop eggs! He had them fried with some of our home grown cherry tomatoes (also fried) and said it was one of the best lunches he's ever had! He has been converted to our chicken's eggs and can't wait for tomorrow's eggs now, I feel there will be fights between us for who gets to eat the eggs!
