Cinnamon
Uggs are sheepskin boots from Australia. They are expensive but the most comfortable things I've ever had on my feet. I bought copies last year and the real things this year and there is no comparison! The real ones are fabulously warm and so comfortable that my feet think they have died and gone to Heaven!! Worth the money without a doubt. This is the Australian website Ugg Boots but you can get them in the UK from various outlets and there are often some on Ebay too for much less than shop prices if you're lucky. Just recieved my first pair of UGGS this morning & they are the most comfortable, snuggly wonderful thing I have ever worn on my feet Thanks Kate - I had thought about trying some for ages, but your post inspired me to go ahead & get some ..........my feet are very, very grateful
Lesley
do you think they'd be good for 'tall' feet as well as fat feet?? Love, Cookie. xx Both Lauren and I have a high instep - mine rubbed slightly when I first had them but nothing much and it soon stopped. Lauren's have been fine. Lauren has real trouble finding shoes to fit for that reason - she usually has the choice of just 1 pair She's also going to have problems now she takes a 3 1/2 to 4 because she's only just 9 and that size shoe are usually totally unsuitable for her age. The Dogmother
Talking of unsuitable shoes, I can't believe the shoes I saw a 7 year old wearing in the playground this morning pointy toes and 3" heels - call me old-fashioned, but I'd have trouble walking in those - I leave them to Andrew
Guest
And to take the 'wierd shaped feet' conversation off in a different direction, are there any Crocs fans out there with very high insteps? My DD has very high insteps (her feet are tall!) and we have a nightmare every summer trying to find pretty sandals to fit her. I have ridiculously high insteps, and very large, banana boat sized feet, and my crocs arestill the comfiest things I've ever had on my tootsies (despite the fact I caught a toenail in one of the holes the other day )
Cookie
Thank you all for your revelations about high insteps! I think I will certainly give them a try for DD this summer. I'll wait a few months until ordering though (or looking on the 2nd Hand sticky) as she is growing like a weed at the moment I ordered some silver ballet pump Crocs from Look At My Crazy Shoes yesterday, and they just arrived about half an hour ago How about that for service! They are sooooo comfortable and look really pretty too - so thank you again to all who've recommended them. I am going to become a Crocs evangelical now as well *which pair shall I buy next...?* Love, Cookie. xx
Sheilaz
Cookie, I'll be very interested in how well your ballet pump crocs fit. I too have very high insteps, plus wide puffy feet (def. a member of the weird foot support group) and have found Crocs so comfortable that I have 3 pairs & have worn them every day since discovering them (here) about 8 months ago. So, although I'd love some pumps, I'm hestitant about the style. Do they stay on OK without rubbing, and did you order slightly bigger than normal size? Oh, I've just re read your post, it's your daughter who has high insteps, and you found the pumps comfortable yourself...are your feet normal or weird? Perhaps I'll just order a pair to try... DD gets her strange feet entirely from OH The pumps fit beautifully. I ordered my usual size and when they arrived I thought they looked rather large and boat like, but they fit perfectly and are very comfortable (maybe my feet are large and boat like... ). I've only worn them around the house so far so I guess the real test will be when the weather warms up and I spend the whole day in them. Good so far though! Love, Cookie. xx
Sheilaz
Thanks for info, and I'm glad they're comfortable. But, if your fet are narrow, I just need someone with wide fet & high instep & puffiness to tell me that their pumps fit. Anyone?
Lesley
That would be me then Sheila I ordered my usual size 5 and my son's girlfriend ordered her usual size 6. Hers arrived - she has long narrow feet - and they were too small. I had her size 6 and they felt fine. My size 5 arrived and were a bit on the small size so I stayed with the 6 and ordrerd a size 7 for son's girlfriend. ......... are you still with me? .......... The size 7 that arrived was too big for her and seemed a bit wider than the last batch of shoes we'd had. They didn't fit my daughter either - she takes a size 7 The size 7's went back. My size 6 pumps felt fine in the house but I've just found out that they are a bit big and slip when I walk They will be fine for around the house and for lounging by a pool (not that I ever do) but not for walking as I do in the Caymans. They do look much daintier, but I could do with a half size. The upside is that they cost less than £2 to post back if they don't fit so I would order some and see what you think Edited January 31, 2007 by Guest
The Dogmother
The upside is that they cost less than £2 to post back if they don't fit so I would order some and see what you think I'd second that Sheila - I ordered Rosie's pink crocs from jellyegg.com and after a bit of a mix-up, Sarah there was most helpful, and sent me a freepost sticker to use to send the wrong ones back. Cinnamon
I never did find a pair of the wellies to fit - a 6 was too small & the 7 's were like boats I agree, Jellyegg are really helpful, & quick to send your order too
Sheilaz
Thanks everyone, now what colour? I was wondering if they would still look dainty on undainty feet, the advantage of the other Crocs is that they look big on everyone, making my feet normal for once. I'm not sure if I want big ankles over daintier shoes? Oh, well, perhaps I should just try one pair! I'll let you know...
Guest
Go on Sheila, you know you want to....... Then you can report back before the rest of us with big, wide, high-instepped puffy feet part with our cash!
Lesley
Sheila - buy them You can always send them back. My feet look like boats in the Caymans and like trotters in the pumps - but I don't care, because they are comfortable . ..... and if people look at them a bit , you could always kick them hard
Sheilaz
Thanks you two, I just needed your opinions first. Off I go, I'll report back when I've tried them.
Cate in NZ
I love my ballet pumps, hardly had them off my feet since I got them, I wear them to work, wandering around the garden, you name it. It's almost a surprise that I don't wear them to bed I don't have a high instep though, more like flat feet if the truth be told , so I can't genuinely say how they'd fit you, but I really do recommend giving them a try . Sheilaz
Well, if you insist. I thought yours looked elegant in the photo Kate but I think your feet are narrower and look good to start with. Just one more question...the big crocs don't feel clammy but I wonder about the pumps, being more enclosed and closer fitting? Suppose it's hard to tell until Summer, but you don't find them hot? SarahJo
I now have 2 pairs of crocs. Light blue caymans and red off road. The off road ones are LARGER than the caymans . Having said that both are size 4, my reg size, and the off roads have a "turbo strap" which does hold the shoe on more securely than the cayman heel strap. Anyway ... just thought you would like to know .... and Sheila, please hurry up, the suspense of what you get amd colour is killing me. I reckon you will go for a purple number

Sheilaz
OK, well the pumps are only avaiable in 4 colours, so I chose gold. It's not very gold, just a pale colour, so good for summer. I thought that black would be the most useful really, but figured that if these were successful, then I'd get black later. Some female logic there. Size? Now that is a trouble for me, as I thought. My shoe size was 6 before my swollen feet problems. So, I ordered UK 7 (9 in croc size) to allow for extra width, the last actual shoes I bought were 6 and a half. Well, the width is needed across the front of the foot, but they slip off, they are a tiny bit long & don't hold on at the back. Pumps do have to fit better than general crocs as I suspected. However, I'm inclined to keep them and hope that I can wedge the back of my heel somehow, or indeed I might need the extra in hot weather. I'd be disappointed not to have some, but going down a size would certainly be too small. I don't know if this is any help to anyone else. I think Crocs are so good for people with wide or problem feet, but the advantage is lost a bit with the pump style.
Guest
Why can't I see page 9? I'm posting this in the hope that page 9 will be revealed to me! Strange, it would seem there WAS no page 9, although it was listed!

Guest
There was a similar problem with this thread when it got to page 8 - there must be a wee glitch - perhaps all the smelly feet have affected the forum....
