frogprincess
I was just out in the garden giving my three some poultry corn, when I looked down at my hand and realised that it all seems a bot mouldy (grey bits at the tip of each grain). I keep the corn in a plastic box in my shed and have only had it two weeks. Is it likely to be mould, and if it is, will it make the chickens ill? I feel terrible! Redwing
There is a lot of natural colouration in grain, sometimes it looks paler and drier at the tips Give it a sniff and see if it smells fresh, if it smells funny or there are signs of damp then throw it out If you can rub the grey off the grain and its smelly or smudges then thats not a good sign
Egluntyne
If it is mould, and not just colour variation, then it would be best if you threw it away.
