bigmommasally
The first quilt I've finished! Edging is a bit wonky and I never want to work with Stripey borders again (they show up the wobbly edge too much) but I am pretty pleased to have actually finished a quilt. It was also a good project to practice my quilting on. A few close ups: I've quilted round the stars and angels wings in gold thread, sewn lots of beads & buttons on the stars, holly berries and kings but none of this shows up very well in the photos. Plum
It's lovely, I love the buttons you have sewn on it and you have tarted up that angel beautifully. Very festive

Blackrocksrock
I think its fabulous - what a work you have put into it and love the buttons in particular - I can only drool - mine is not quite so good and I envy you being able to do such work - everyone on here is so talented. bigmommasally
Thanks but don't be fooled it was much easier than it may appear as the middle is just one big panel so hardly any patchwork involved.

Couperwife
I love that you said it was just one panel? where did you get it from, (I need one ) cathy x
bigmommasally
I got mine from Clare at Patchkits http://www.patchkits.co.uk/acatalog/home.htm The kit comes with everything you need apart from all the extra trimmings such as buttons & beads, which I was quite happy about as I enjoyed sourcing those bits myself. If you already have wadding and backing you can buy the panel on its own for around £6, from http://www.andsewonfabrics.com/ and I think they have co-ordinatig fabrics for the border. Have Fun PS: I have also seen some other lovely christmas panels, one is called "I believe in Santa" and the other is the "12 days of christmas" both by Nancy Halvorsen.
