Solitary chicken - need advice

my insisted on free ranging this afternoon in the dreadful driving rain, and would not go in their winter covered run

when i checked to see if they had gone to bed, i pulled off the egg hatch on and they were sodden wet.

should i bring them inside to dry or do i leave them

Can you towel dry them in the Eglu with kitchen paper? Don't know if that helps or is right either - I know they're meant to be hardy but it's just my gut reaction in this chilly weather (assuming it's as cold up north as it is down south!).

 

I'd have thought it would be too late to bring them in and dry them plus, if you did and then put them back outside, would they feel the cold???!!! I'm probably being too soft

 

I'm sure someone will be along with some good advice soon

My lot have gone in wet several times and come out lovely and dry in the morning!

I think a combination of wet and cold draught can be fatal. Wet or cold on its own is ok, but not so good together. Perhaps shut the eglu door on those nights (if you don't already) to avoid any draughts.
