jimnpaula
My seven ex bats have consistently laid 2 to 3 eggs since the big moult, (and even before then.) Usually there's one laid in the run, and one or two in the nestbox-litterbox. Yesterday we had the usual 'one in the run, one in the nestbox' scenario early on, and when I went to check for the 'afternoon egg' I found two instead! (Unfortunately one got broken chasing the neighbours dog around our garden, but that's another story.) Today even weirder things are happening: DH let the chooks out a bit later than usual and found 3 in the nb, then spotted one in the run later in the morning. I've just popped out to see the girls with a dish of corn & mealworms and found another egg in the nb! That's 5 today and still time to spare - I'm running out of room to store them all P
Jools
You're bragging now aren't you!! I'm down to one a day until my newbies come into lay. They are looking promising though!
jimnpaula
Sorry, I can't help it I always tell the girls how clever they are and say thankyou, so maybe they're rewarding my praise P
