Oh they are gorgeous. Mind you I think I would lose the plot trying to stuff diatom powder up their bums - it only needs one stroppy one and I would be the one with diatom over me instead (and that wouldn't be the first time either no names mentioned Piggy Sioux).

I have a Jersey Giant hen named Faye I'll have to get some more recent pictures, she's a blue splash and is just GORGEOUS! She was a chick when i got her, i posted pictures on here before somewhere. I've a new camera now so will take some pretty pictures of her, at the moment she's about as big as the brahmas but she's heavier when you pick her up, she weighs a tonne. She's very very friendly and more than happy to sit on the kids' knees/anyones knees really, although she's getting a bit big for the kids lol. She'll jump from the floor into my arms so that's something to be prepared for, she will also get straight onto my back if i'm stooping down or bent over for any reason. Cleaning the shed out with her pottering around can be a nightmare i tell you!

 

Anyway, yes, i'll get some pictures of her if you want?

Being totally nosy that one appears to be living in an eglu?? i would have thought that would have been to small surely? (plots whether she could get two hens into the spare eglu ) not that i'd even consider getting more chickens
