Valkyrie
More sleety snow just as I was putting the girls away - pah! Murray has been peeling the chokes - seems the sluggies like them too. I wonder if they leave the little holes with jet propulsion? My arm has been a bit better and so I thought hmmm, better watch how you dig. OK as long as I mainly used the left arm. Another thought - why isn't the muscle in your forearm called a forcep??? So back to sluggies. I have been looking at sites regarding choke pests - normally refers to them as pests when the foliage is coming through (yep noticed that last year), but one site said you could eat it raw. So we did have some and they are like wet Brazil nuts. Then I found a funny forum where advice was given on phartichokes. Asafoetida powder from health food shops apparently smells awful but if you put a pinch in the creamed chokes or soup then the pong disappears and so do the after effects later on! Another person recommended ginger. Ah wonderful ginger. I wonder if that's why the Japanese use it apart from cleansing palates between sushi portions? Valkyrie
There, there Chickyviccy. I told you my hose is a cure all. But I can sympathise because I had very unpleasant pains in my stomach and went for a scan - they found nothing and nothing in my blood either. I get the occasional pain but ignore it (probably not a good idea but what else can the docs do). The verdict was my age. Which is also what was said to a neighbour "expect assorted pains at your age". She ended up going private after having so many tests and all sorted lickety spit! Hope yours is sorted soon. talking to myself...hm First sign of madness JJ. You're on the right thread. Skittles - Murray's dad has a big wooden one of those games that he brings round on odd occasions. I have decided that slugs don't jet propel themselves out of the artichokes because I haven't seen any popping up in the air. However I did get an out of this world experience after going to our bedroom long after Murray turned in and thought it was just as well we don't use candles any more. KABOOOOOOM! Valkyrie
Were you hinting a lot beforehand or is it that your attention is on the chicks and he wants attention now? Ciaran was waiting for mum to get up this morning because he hid his valentine pressies in the spare room. As luck would have it she was up later than usual and by that time he'd gone back to bed. Although I'm not impressed with an extremely long shower he had this morning at 6 o'clock - hummmm goes the light fan. Hummmmm goes the shower. Splash thud thud goes the water. Cough cough he goes. I mean it takes him longer in the shower than it does for me to have a soak in the bath. Half an hour he was in there - probably had to wash out the huge amount of shampoo he uses - he goes through bottles that should last at least a month in just a week - if I'm lucky. Then the conditioner - he hasn't got as much hair as me and the same applies there - too much used. I figure he only got out because the water ran cold. As for hairspray . . . The other day I sauntered up for a bath. Started running it and hey presto, someone started the shower up in the other bathroom. So I thought I'd wait, but no, girlfriend goes in next. I gave up, had lunch and had a bath after that. But at least it was a better hour.
