Lovely kids chicken book

Recommended Posts

Just found a lovely little chicken book. It's called 'Don't Count Your Chickens' by Simon Puttock and Ross Collins. It's about a little girl who gets 2 chickens and then wants 4 and then 8 and then 16..... sounds a bit familiar! Illustrations are great.

So glad you posted this on here :D My little boy loves our chooks to bits and when it was his birthday last week he wanted to know why no-one had sent him a card with a chicken on the front  (a friend sent me one for mine!). I will order this book for him, he'll love it :D Sounds a bit like me, first there were two, now there's four .........

Eggsellent, thanks. I've ordered it for my little God daughter. She loves my poultry themed pressies! (I hope  ).

I had the same thought, my God daughter loves chicken things too, but I suspect thats my influence. Every time she sees anything chickeny she says "Look Auntie Deb, a chicken"... so she's encouraging me really

Tasha - I read your comment this morning and it made me laugh hysterically for about 5 minutes :D So much so that I didn't have time to post my thanks, as I would have been late for work.

However, now, in my lunchbreak, I would like to Thankyou for starting my day so brilliantly this morning :D

It got me thinking though, about the sequel to this book, maybe she gets a larger run, and then a field, then starts talking about small holdings and alpacas and sheep and cows and pigs

I bought 'the chicken who saved christmas' for my children this year and they really enjoyed it (so did LSH :shh: ) LINKY

I bought several copies of that book as Christmas presents, one for my sister (she's 31 but never mind  ), one for my God daughter, one for my Godson (different parents) and another for a friends little girl. They all loved it :D

Steff, I've just pressed that Linky & seen that under "for sale from other sellers" it has 2 available from £51.56...............I also bought it for nieces for Christmas but not at that price

Am toying with buying "Don't count your chickens" for my bookshelf............
