Martin B
What an absolutely unbelievable game of football. I'm not going to attempt to write loads. Today I shall applaud: (Out of 5 claps) Jose Mourinho - Very fair after match interview (admitted they didn't play well, and "Ooops, word censored!"nal did) , and he was first on the pitch to try and stop the fighting. He also managed a hand shake with "Ooops, word censored!"ne Wenger.  "Ooops, word censored!"ne Wenger - Took a huge risk that almost played off. Had belief, did his bit to stop fighting.  Thierry Henry, William Gallas, Mathieu Flamini - Calmed Adebayor down and weren't too unhappy about being left out. Didier Drogba, Theo Walcott, Abou Diaby, Armand Traore - World Class play, either of them could have been Man of the match.  Who I shall Boo today: (Out of 5 shakes of the head) Michael Ballack - Could not have been less bothered :notalk: :notalk: Frank Lampard, Cesc Fabregas, Eboue, Kolo Toure, John Obi Mikel - In my eyes all of them should have been sent off. :notalk: :notalk: Howard Webb and the Dodgy Linesman (sent Adebayor off and gave the Drogba 1st goal) He obviously needed to go to specsavers. Howard Webb had no control, very inconsistent. :notalk: :notalk: Very unhappy, stupidity has over looked a wonderful battle of a cup final. Comiserations to "Ooops, word censored!"nal play group. Did you know that most of their players were only a few years older than me! Well Done Chelsea. Get well soon John.
Sheilaz
Well, I shall be watching highlights later with my son I think. I just popped on here for a quick result & analysis but now I want to see for myself. I used to try & avoid the topic until I'd seen the match, but thought I'd just look in. Guest
some very poor predicting this week... Chelsea, Martin Lorna and Helen all s"Ooops, word censored!"ed 2 points each Annie chipped in a woeful 1 point.. but Phil clocked up a Massive 7 points - making him Prediction Princess for a further week - and stretching his lead quite impressively!! come on girls - what happened to all the "girls on top" banter?? Phil 32 Lorna 25 Helen 24 Chelsea 24 Dan 23 Annie 22 Martin 21 off to find another princess photo.... Phil

chelsea
Well what a game once JT got injured I couldnt care less who won it.....it looked VERY bad and I knew he'd swallowed his tongue. Poor chap. He is my hero. Game of 2 halves really, "Ooops, word censored!"nal started off bright and chelsea sluggish. Good goal from Walcott. Second half - experience paid off and Drogba won it for us. Lamps and Sheva both unlucky to hit bar. The brawl, dont really know what was happening didnt see who punched wayne bridge and I feel Fabregas should have been red carded, our played deserved to go too. Jose Mourinho - good post match interview - credit where credit is due - "Ooops, word censored!"nal played very well and he praised them repeatedly for this, also praised "Ooops, word censored!"ne Wenger too. I liked the bit where he said "well, we won and they will have a bad dinner and we will have a good one " The offside/onside 1st chelsea goal - it was ONSIDE, Jamie Redknapp and Gary mcallister both agreed half time that it was onside, when they showed the footage Drogba's leg was inline with Senderos, and the ref was right as the advantage should go with the attacking player. I hope the press dont jump too much on the "brawl" bandwagon and steal a bit of credit that we deserve, WE WON by sticking the ball in the net and winning. 1st of many trophies for Chelsea and hope JT makes full recovery. WELL DONE MY BLUE BOYS

gooner.girl
Well! What a game! "Ooops, word censored!"nal deserved a draw at least, IMHO (but then i'm biased! ) Lovely to see Theo get on the scoresheet - didn't he look delighted with himself!?! Bless him! Drogbas goal WAS offside! I thought it would be a game to far for the Wenger babes and i was right.... Still am very proud of them and Wenger for sticking with them rather then playing the big guns - Chelsea shouldn't be to impressed by their win - we were playing our U10's! If our first team were playing you'd have been thrashed. Just wait til the likes of Denilson, Traore, Diaby etc are playing reguarly - the futures bright for "Ooops, word censored!"nal! As for the brawl, all i can say it was just as well Cashley Hole wasn't playing or he'd have (hopefully ) got smacked in the mouth! Six of one and half a dozen of the other if you ask me... Though i think Fabregas and Lampard should have gone and i don't understand why Adebayor did.... Shocking behaviour from the Chelsea fans, throwing stuff at Fabregas every time he took a corner... Anyhow in all this, i think the Spuds - Bolton score may have got overlooked! Not that i ever want Spurs to win but i think it needs to be put in big letters.... Spuds 4 - 1 Bolton (Phil: Sorry hun, i just couldn't resist! )
chelsea
Its tradition for celery to be thrown. We have the Celery Song. Chelsea do it all the time Fabregas was making a total mountain out of a molehill about it...it was pieces of celery !! If you had played yer big boys - you would have won. But "Ooops, word censored!"ne played to the media - (cos to them he simply cannot lose) and played his young'uns. So if he loses he gets credit and sympathy "cos they are young" and if he wins he's "amazing". They will be some team in 2 seasons time I agree. oh and the most biased commentary I have ever witnessed on skysports by Andy Gray. I know a lot of chelsea fans who turned off the sound and a lot who are cancelling the sky subscription . Im going to write to someone to complain. Martin B
i don't understand why Adebayor did.... I know why! Eboue smacked Wayne Bridge over the head and then Adebayor went to see how Wayne was before trying to split a few of the others up. The linesman thought it was Adebayor who smacked Wayne Bridge on the head, so Webb sent him off.

Yes it should go to the attacking player, but unfortunately theses days it doesn't so many of these type of incidents are given offside! No consistency from the referees yet again! Dont know whether they'll get it overturned by the way Adebayour was when he didnt want to leave the pitch.
Martin B
I think it should be overturned because he was protesting his innocence and there is nothing wrong with that, he should have smacked him! Not happy with referees and linesman at the moment!
chelsea
You know what the FA is like though. I have no doubt nothing will be overturned and wouldnt suprise me if Lampard and Fabregas get banned and also both teams heavily fined. AnnieP
Good! That kind of behaviour is just disgusting. No wonder the 8 yerar olds at my school think its OK to fight at lunchtimes over football. What example do they get?

We do it too, over a school kick about people have had punch ups, kicked each other, high tackles leaving someone with a fractured ankle. It does get violent! chelsea
Oh and another thing, fair play and thanks to "Ooops, word censored!"nal medical chaps (llewellyn I think) who rushed on to John Terry's aid on the pitch. they got there quicker than our physio's much appreciated

chelsea
my last post before bed - see this picture below http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007050721,00.html if this was anywhere else on the pitch a free kick would have been given. Believe me im not blaming Diaby - it wasnt intentional - but it was a very high leg - john terry is not as low to the pitch as you think he is

Guest
Yes it was a high leg! quite possibly the most preposterous claim ever made in the fine history of the football thread!!! it was not a high leg - it was a stupid diving header by JT - and (whilst not many people want to see him injured - which he doesn't seem to be) - it's what you might expect if you go diving amongst the flailing legs like he did. call it brave - call it stupid - but you can't blame the defender... Chelsea were better after he went off anyway - shouldn't have played in the first place - he was letting them down badly at the back.. as for the brawl... come on guys!! let's lose some of the sanctimony - it's always fun to have a mass brawl and see the prima-donnas getting out of their prams - that's proper entertainment... made the game worth watching!! as for Adebayour - maybe he didn't punch Bridge - but he did get stuck in - if you watch the replays he goes wading in fists flying... as for the Bolton game - thanks, Helen, for the big blue score reminder... us princesses are easily bruised you know... Guest
This one shows the ground too and is a bit better... Terry should have got a straight red for that. He didn't get ANY of the ball - straight head-butt to the defender... straight red in my book.. he was very lucky to get away with it - would have meant a ban for violent conduct...
