Cheap shed recommendations

Recommended Posts

I need to buy another shed and need some recommendations as the last 2 haven't been that good. It needs to be a min. of 5 x 3 and can't be too expensive!

Have found one on B & Q, a 6 x4 but it won't let me post a link! does anyone have it? Also, does anyone know of any discount codes for B & Q !!!

Thanks

Tom

Thats an overlap shed, I've always read/been told that shiplap is better. They're a bit more expensive but will last longer :D

I have a 4x4ft wendy house which is shiplap, but I think that was just under £200.

I don't have any codes, but luckily my uncle works for B&Q and can get himself 20% off

Maybe have a look on freecycle/freegle?

Edit: Your link works here

I'd go for shiplap too, if you can afford it. It does last much longer. I had a B&Q overlap shed at my former house, and it really was wrecked by the weather in just a few years. Our shiplap one at this house has lasted a long time and is still in excellent condition. Ours was made by a specialist shed company though.

Personally, I'd say second hand is your best option. You want something that's cheap and good, but cheap sheds are usually cheap for a very good reason. At least if you buy secondhand you'll have a bit of a chance to find out where the problems (if any) have developed and therefore draw your conclusions about the real quality of what you're buying. So long as you get a decent basis and then smother it with preservative, I see no reason why what you buy won't give plenty more years' service.

Tom, scroll down this page http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/templates/content_lookup.jsp?content=/content/marketing/january_sale_09/garden.jsp&noleftnav=true&menu=jansale&icamp=so_jangarden

and you'll find 15% off all wooden sheds under the "plus don't miss out on these offers" banner.

I don't have any sheds except those built by DH so can't offer any advice on them

Good luck,

Sha x
