JB09
When introducing one young hen to another will there be the same pecking order issues? I am thinking about getting a 12 week old pekin bantam and a 15 week old pekin bantam from different places. They are both very small and still cheeping slightly. I wondered if because of there younger age they will go together any easier than POL hens? Thanks in advance JB
tom123
If they are coming from separate places and are both going into an unknown place at the same time then there shouldn't be much of a problem. The older one will defiantly put the other one in its place though as this is natural. Just keep an eye on them and make sure it doesn't get out of hand
Jools
I've definitely found younger birds easier, particularly if you bring them both in at the same time and neither has home advantage. It would be preferable to quarantine them separately for a couple of weeks first to make sure they haven't brought any nasties from their different homes. However, two youngsters in solitary confinement isn't a good idea, so I'd risk putting them both in together and keeping your fingers crossed.
