sparkysmum
What a dreadful thing to happen, but well done to your girl for being so level headed. Ax
Happy chickens!
Driver sounds like he has now realised what a dreadful position he put your daughter in. As docsquid says, we all have a duty of care towards children irrespective of 'rules'. I'm very glad to hear she got home safely.
Valkyrie
Well I am gobsmacked. I am so glad she managed to get somewhere safe through using her initiative and the help from a kind person.
keyhole kate
I have just caught up with this thread how awful what is the world coming to when people either dont care or are too afraid to help a young girl asking for help. Thank goodness she is level headed enough to have gotton herself somewhere safe well done that girl Heads would roll if it were one of my kids boy or girl, put in that dangerous position clearly the driver has not a s"Ooops, word censored!" of common sense I hope he drives better than he thinks
Cinnamon
It seems it was a one off that he drove that day as the regular driver was at the football (Reading V someone ) The regular guy spoke to my eldest daughter (she gets the college coach every day bar wednesday) last night though & apologised himself & on behalf of the bus company for the stupidity of the stand in driver, which was a nice gesture
alih
I am impressed by your daughter's sang froid in such a situation as I can imagine mine being rather more flustered. Awful tale but a good lesson for us all ( I am going to talk to my 2 tonight again about what to do in an emergency.) But I really feel for you having that period of terrible worry.
