I've made pom-poms before (using cardboard templates), but haven't had a go at these yo-yo things. Has anybody tried them? Are they easy to do? They look potentially very interesting for all sorts of projects.

i've made yo-yo's without the templates, never tried the templates for those,but I've just bought some of the pom pom makers - they are brilliant! Very quick and easy to do

I love the Cotton Patch and not too far from me either! I spent a small fortune in there the other week on materials for work and a yo-yo maker or two managed to slip into my basket!

 

They are great and really easy to make - my students have made loads and now we just need to find something to do with them

Hmm..I feel more creativity coming on, particularly as I now have a lovely sewing machine and a fabric stash

Well, I've gone and bought one. Just need to use up some of that fabric stash on making yo-yos and creating nice things now!

 

And I accidentally bought new knitting wool while I was at it

I just received my order from CP - and in it were 2 yo-yo's! One is a flower and the other a butterfly. Kept Erin well amused trying to see how it worked (snort and snigger). Plus my new cutting mat, a sharpener for my rotary blades to see how that goes, a de-fuzzer because somebody wears a jumper come dress that bobbles everywhere (not me or the guys)! I'm sure I missed something - toy? I didn't even order fabric this time. Must be ill. Can't wait to have a go at the yo-yo's though.

I like those butterfly and flower ones Koojie, are they easy to do? How do they work? Quite tempted by the pom pom makers too, I usually use bits of cardboard.

The pom pom makers are brilliant, and so FAST! Couperwife introduced us to them at Omletina's. I took some with me to our stitchers evening at the village hall on Monday night. They were a great hit with the teenage girls - they had a brilliant evening and they both went home with 4 or 5 funky pom poms each Even my little boys have made loads with them

I've done it I've ordered 2 pom pom makers, the large and the small. Don't know what I'm going to use pom poms for yet, but I'm sure Danny will have a go at it

My pom pom makers came yesterday and I made 3 last night I can see everything getting covered in pom poms, I can do 4 different sizes

I've been itching to try out the yo-yo makers and pom-pom makers but so far unable to find the time as we are so busy at the moment. Might sit and make pom-poms tonight as the light is too bad for sewing.

Ooh, I made some! Large ones, small ones and heart-shaped ones! They look pretty good. I just need to make some little bags so I can use the yo-yo's to decorate them.

Couperrwife is at least 50% responsible for the mega pompom thanks to her pompom makers. So much less faffage than the trad way of making them. I love the extra large pom pom maker.

I like the look of the butterfly makers, especially to use up small bits of fabric. I think they'd look great on cards. Has anyone got one?

I bought a small one, and they are still quite big - you'd need about 3-4 inches of fabric. I had to look when they arrived because I thought "I'm sure I ordered the small ones". Haven't got around to using them yet though.
