what a shock - i just hatched a naked neck chick!

Recommended Posts

that would have scared the life out of me, I am not a lover of those...  *shudders*

When I first saw them, at Wernlas, I didn't like them at all. However, I got to thinking about how unusual they were, and I read up a bit about them, disocvered they are renowned for being friendly little birds, and I saw them differently after that.

When I got my little girl she was 14 weeks old and I thought she was just...stunning. And so unusual. I'd definitely have another TNN again in the future.

You just have to start by thinking how unusual they are, rather than thinking how horrible.

Well i knew the person i bought the eggs from also kept TNNs so as soon as i saw it hatch i recognised it and was angry but then as soon as it flopped down with exhaustion i fell in love

I too have been reading about them and they sound cracking little/large birds. I am a great believer in fate so i think i have them for a reason.

That's good 7 TNN would have been too much of a shock! My lot are hatching and it is a real mixture of eggs - I was only thinking today I am putting all my trust in them being correctly named - now you give me reasons for my doubts!

Wow! That was sure some surprise. Not my favourite either, but I think they have to be loved because they are so baldy. Reminds me of Bedk"Ooops, word censored!"s and Broomsticks with the vultures.

Poor excuse from the seller though. But they are rare aren't they?

You know i am lucky because despite the surprise they have captured my heart especially the last born this morning who has a cute white pom pom bum

After much tooing and froing of emails i managed to get him to refund me. It may have been the pictures i sent him which swung it, dont think he believed me before then. So its all good.

What was your naked neck like Laurie?

Oh they are just so gorgeous, especially love the first piccy (s/he looks like a teeny version of my girl).

I don't think you can sex them until they are about 14 weeks (Wernlas had only one available when I ordered one, and I had to wait until then for them to be sure she was a girl).

I hope they turn out to be Girls. Are they bantam versions or full size?

Im not sure what size they will be, is there anything to tell by? They are quite tall now when they stretch up although the silkie seems bigger than them and the silkie is supposed to be a bantam.

I am confused.com

I think we would all be confused in your situation!
