Groovychook
Oh, poor thing! I'm sure savlon will be fine but nothing with tea tree in it... my vet told me it was poisonous to cats... Give him a soothing stoke from me- hope he's on the mend soon!
Olly
Oh dear! Wellington gets beaten up at regular intervals, I believe he gives as good as he gets, though! I usually just leave him to lick his wounds, but keep an eye on them in case anything goes septic - he's had a couple of nasty abscesses. If you think anything needs a bit of help, then warm salty water's probably safest - or there's a sort of veterinary wound powder you can get. He usually heals up on his own, though. I keep telling him to walk away when the other cats call him names ... but he doesn't listen to me.

Cinnamon
Thanks everyone! He seems to be on the mend & spent the night out last night. I didn't put anything on his wounds, but am going to keep an eye on them instead. Poor chap - he is now recuperating on my bed
Gem_Seb
My old cat used to get into lots of s"Ooops, word censored!"s, i just used to dap a bit of warm salt water on it for a few days after. Hope he is feeling much better!!
Chucky Mama
Salt water 2-3 times a day is best. Try to keep the wound from healing over for a few days as cat bites are always infected and if they seal over any discharging will be prevented and gunge will gets trapped under the skin resulting in an abcess. Scratches are not a problem, just any bites.
craftyhunnypie
Hiya - we used Vetsyme ointment on Holly, when a Magpie pecked her nose & leg! It worked a treat. It's a funny green colour, but it really worked. Hope your kitty is better soon. Emma.x

Cinnamon
Just back from the vets. She says that 2 of his toes are very swollen,& the skin is inflammed, however his temp if fine. So he has had a painkiller injection & an antibiotic one too,& I have to call her tomorrow if he is still limping badly. He also has a weeks worth of antibiotics in pill form to take (fun, fun, fun!!!) They say there is no obvious fracture, but he may need to be x-rayed
Willow
He also has a weeks worth of antibiotics in pill form to take (fun, fun, fun!!!) One of my cats is expert at avoiding pills and the only thing we have found that works is crushing them in butter and smearing that over the back of his paw. He can't not lick it off
Seagazer
Oh dear I hope the limp goes before he needs x-rays. Good luck with the pills too
chickencam
I hope Chilli feels better soon. It is quite easy for cats to get twisted legs in fights. Mine have both had limps that have been ligament damage and Ziggy once had her tail pulled so hard that it took about three months to be fully right. The painkillers and antibiotics will do him good, but good luck with the tablets. I once had a little plastic syringe like thing that the vet gave to me, with two curved prongs on the end to put the tablet in. You drew a small amount of milk into the syringe and put that to the back of the cat's throat and fired. It worked pretty well on my old cat who was a nightmare to give tablets to.
