I've ordered and paid for my wood from the timber merchants. It's all going to be nicely cut to size - how hard can building an ark be??

 

I had a moment of madness in the spring sunshine and decided that I needed something to do, something constructive - and this idea was formed!!

There is of course a motive behind this. If I rehouse the banties in an ark, I will have a spare house and run for two orpingtons don't tell hubby thats part of the plan though!

Well I'm halfway through. I have made the outer shell and handles and floor joists. It looks ok - it would have been easier if there was a flat surface somewhere in the garden, but hey ho!

 

I managed to break three drill bits, drop a 10' long bit of 2"x2" on my shin (i did swear a little!) and blister the palm of my hand. OOO, I'm sooooo looking forward to tomorrow

well thats a lot better than I would be able to do, I wouldn't attempt it myself.. luckily hubby is a carpenter so I leave it all to him...
