spankingemu
Hi there My partner used to use the forum quite regularly (House) but as you will see below he's moved and internet access is difficult. So, House is already there working, I have a job lined up but the house is a bit slow to sell. at a push we could rent somewhere but ... renting is proving difficult because of the chooks. We will not give them away because we love them too much. I know it's a long shot, but is there anyone who's island based that knows of some land we can use to house them? Or can think of a solution? Thank you so much Sal
Squawk
Hi Could you get an allotment? Or you could try the the land share scheme http://landshare.channel4.com/
Ain't Nobody Here
Hi Sal . I remember House (was he House MD ?) I don't think I know of any Omleteers on the Isle of Wight . I may be wrong though. I hope you find a solution - it would be awful to have to leave your girls behind .

spankingemu
Thank you so much everyone House MD is very well but really missing the chooks, so I'm trying to move asap. Last time I looked on Landshare I missed the 3 landowners that are registered, so fingers crossed that someone has some space. Thank you once again Mrs House MD
batcatz
Hi I live in Southsea. I wonder if your eglu would fit on my small patio? I would be happy to look after them while you find somewhere. I'll ask a friend who lives there if they know anywhere for rent too.
Redwing
Just remembered that there is someone from the IOW on another forum, will see if I can find them, they probably wont be able to help directly but must have chickeny contacts
batcatz
Hi, my friend who lives there suggested the Isle of Wight country press. It has a for rent/for sale section on Fridays: http://www.iwcp.co.uk/ There's a livestock section and an ad for chickens for sale with a phone number. Might be worth phoning them for ideas on getting some land? ooh, also found this under livestock: LARGE, TWO bedroom wooden chalet, to let. Located on farm in Newport. Full services. Deposit required. £450pcm. Ideal for someone who may have a horse and wants it close to home. Tel:07966-167175. I'm tempted myself. lol! Hope this helps. spankingemu
Thank you all so much, we were starting to get quite down about things. This morning a viewing for a potential new house fell through. I certainly won't be moving for quite some time after this!!!
