Chickendoodle
Don't know if you have been watching the quiz - Only Connect - on BBC4 Monday nights. I find it quite addictive One of the rounds is a connecting wall where there are 16 words which you have to sort into groups of 4 - can be fiendishly difficult. ! You can do this at http://www.bbc.co.uk/onlyconnect/quiz/ It's 3 minutes a round so if you have some time to spare have a go !
patsylabrador
I didn't realise it was on again. We love to watch it but mainly because the host is very strict and the male contestants seem to quite enjoy that. The very first time I watched with my daughter we thought it was a spoof and it took quite a while before we realised it wasn't. Having said that you're right, it is addictive and fun. Must watch it, I also enjoy University Challenge and am really pleased with myself if I can answer a question.
Chickendoodle
I think it's brilliant fun. It thinks it is very highbrow - you choose your category with greek letters, not normal ones which is very pretentious (intentionally I would imagine). I only know 4 of the signs for the greek alphabet so I would be a goner right from the start. I am inordinately pleased when I get one right as the connections are pretty obscure most of the time. The host, Victoria Coren, is very funny There are 25 connecting walls on the website at the moment - to my shame I have sat and tried them all. I only got 5 completely right and had a varying degree of success with the others (some with no correct answers at all!)
Peaches
Me & OH are completely addicted to Only Connect .... sad, I know. My friend (male) rather likes Miss Coren - says she very strict!!
bluekarin
Cool! I've never heard of this but is very good. I can see myself wasting several hours on this After 4 dismal trys, where I only scored a max of 2, I have just done number 5 and got max points of 10 Go me! BarbaraJ
I'd never heard of it either but had a go on 4 and got 2 lines on one
Helly Welly
Love love love his programme and seem to be getting better at it. I've done the first ten walls on the website, not altogether successfully though. I did do one wall completely and got the links so i was quite chuffed. OH's favourite round is the last one when they remove the vowels. I'm a wall fan personally.
Janty
We love this programme too but doesn't Victoria Coren wear some dodgy dresses?!! Even hubby comments.
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I genuinely think some of the contestants have no idea how pretentious and dull they are. I agree with patsylabrador - I thought it might be a spoof - a sort of Mastermind in the style of Look Around You! Vicky Coren's a heck of a lass. World Class poker player, author of Once More With Feeling (look it up) and funny columnist. She rocks.
