Unsecure chicken perches

For the life of me i cant get them to drink from the super glug!

Is there some sort of technique to getting them to do this?

 

Any advice much appreciated

try getting a stick and tapping the valve bit making them drip when they are near them

Neither can I - my chickens resolutely refuse to. Others have more success by showing the brightest one how to do it, and the others follow - apparently.

Some hens aren't used to the super glug.

 

Put a bowl of water underneath it and fiddle with the superglug nipples to allow water to drip out. They should soon learn. My new hens taught my old ones how to use the superglug.

 

You could always hang it lower so they can drink from the top?

I tried that and i thought penelope understood but she just bites it and doesn't push it up i keep having to give them there usual water container as im scared they not geting enough fluid!

I dont know what else to do!

I did the tapping it with my finger thing and they eventually got the hang of it as they are so nosey they wanted to see what i was doing, then they tried it themselves

I have to say some of mine got it, some didn't so I swapped mine for ordinary glugs which they much prefer

i might have to do that, hmmm was just fed up of them pooping and kicking earth into their water.

I will keep trying though!

try hanging it higher up, they should extend their heads right up and any contact with the beak should make at least some water come out so even if one 'bites' it she should still get some water
