Unsecure chicken perches

Me and my 8 year old daughter have just VERY sucessfully candled 5 of our 10 eggs wow Im amazed at how much you see!!! 4 out of the 5 had loads of veins,you can see the chicks and we even saw the chicks moving around!!!!

Really excited now.........how sad are we!!!!!!!!

The other 5 eggs are dark welsummer eggs so we have not tried those!!! so at the minute one silkie is on its way and 3 green leg partridges......

Not sad at all!!! When I hatched some off a couple of years ago, i had to stop myself candling them as I found it fascinating!!!

 

We hatched 14 chicks and 1 duck!!! Was an amazing thing to do with the children!

Candled all ten eggs now........got 6 eggs that all look alive and kicking!!!!!!

What type of candler have you got. I'm incubating some welsummers and they're really dark.

I have candled them using a strong pen torch whilst the eggs were sat in an egg tray. (in the downstairs loo in total darkness). The welsummer eggs you can see the air sacs and some veins but obviously no where as clear as the whiter shells!! Time cant go quick enough at this end!!!!

I wont get rid of the four eggs that im not too sure about though......just in case

Oh its fantastic, so exiting and if your sad then so am I because I was just the same. Its a wondrous thing!

Our neighbours have just been cooing at the sight of a candled egg.

 

It really is amazing.
