Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 18

Recommended Posts

 As if we'd shout at you!

 's we are!

Lewis has been having a gander at chick development, for my lot:

FIRST DAY:

16 hours - First sign of resemblance to a chick embryo

18 hours - Appearance of alimentary tract

20 hours - Appearance of vertebral column

21 hours - Beginning of formation of nervous system

22 hours - Beginning of formation of head

23 hours - Appearance of blood islands - vitelline circulation

24 hours - Beginning of formation of eye

How 8) is that?! - a bit like PT's sig banner

... so its 24 hours and their eyes are beginning to form.

The 2 early ones I snuck in :shh::wink: will be nearly a day more developed - are beginning to form their heart + ear, and at 42 hours old their heart begins to beat :anxious:

Great pictures Lynsey! :D

I am showered and in my jim jams awaiting the chinese to be delivered. I know! :anxious: Twenty past six is a little early on a Friday to be ready for bed but I am knackered again.

I have spent today cleaning our shed out. Been to the tip twice (that was well scary but another story). Who knew so much rubbish could be kept in our little shed! A lot of the stuff we inherited as the we brought the house from Justins brother who moved to New Zealand and wasn`t allowed to take a lot of the shed stuff with him.

Evidently Justin's brother was a hoarder  We have more brass door handles in the shed than the entire cul de sac has doors!!!! He also liked to keep containers....most of the shelving (two shelves that run the length and a 6 shelf freestanding jobby) was filled with empty sweet tins, ice cream containers and chinese takeaway tubs, I always assumed that they had stuff int hem. Also have six sets of water pipes for washing machines.....errrrrr WHY!?

I love my new streamlined shed.....lots of room for chicken stuff!!!! Plus it is MY shed now.....Justin never does any DIY anyways so he will have to find somewhere else to smoke!

Still no (hatch) .....still cheaping though. Shirl is right!! If only I could crack the eggs and pop them out!!! This waiting is driving me mad!!!!!! What is the betting if they do hatch they will wait until Sunday when I am out all day helping out at the BHWT Northants Rehoming day.

*wonders whats for tea* "Faaaaaaaaather  "

"I always assumed that they had stuff in them"

Lewis has started making/assembling the electric hen. Has the heat mat + gots most of the wood cut to size, so just gots to screw the wood together + varnish it :)

Didn't know wether to creosote or varnish it, but thought the orange might look a bit odd  and I can wipe the varnish.

Someone said to use polystyrene sheets between the wood + mat so need to get some - plenty of time

You have seen inside my shed haven't you Lynsey? Well imagine my shed.....but so you can actually see the floor, workbench and shelf space!!!!

OOOOH **lightbulb appears above Ems head** the rabbit cage brooder will now fit on the workbench and I wonder if I could put the freecycle guineapig hutch on one of the shelves to use as a sick bay

Hello all :D

Sandie - you have a lovely yorkshire accent :D

I have spent a lovely bit of time in the garden with the girls, and had some successful free ranging with the whole flock

Nyssa and Ace had a bit of a go at Mel and Vicki, but nothing major, and no=one had a go at Tegan

Although we have some budding friendships, Mel and Tegan are inseparable, its so lovely to see Tegan with a friend, and Vicki and Susan have become firm friends after the altercation yesterday - stands to reason they are both barking mad  So today Vicki and Mel are seeming less like the Kray twins today

Off to look at pictures now if I can work my way through this new format

Pizza is here already! 15 mins to deliver - rather good

Nugget is still sitting on an egg in the (green eglu) + Cilla has put herself to bed in the WIR with the ducks

... d'you think I should leave her to it and see if she really does want to be broody, or put Cilla back in + take her off the egg?

Me wants to leave her with an egg and she could have a couple out the incy in a few days if she wants, but don't know if its fair on Cilla :eh:

Phil has taken a load more 3D photos tonight, the ones of Thomas and the girls are lovely, however, I do not like me in 3D  I look fat enough in 2D, I really don't need the extra dimension :lol:

There is a fab one of Rose in the treat bin

Its such a shame I can't share them, although no doubt Phil will upload the good ones onto the website with the availability to use normal 3D glasses on them
