I got home to five CLB boys

 

Still one egg left to hatch

 

Pekin and Silver laced dotte due in four days so moved to the hatcher

 

Inccy half filled last week and the rest to be filled tonight

 

I was due to be in Brussels for a meeting tomorrow - Friday, I was taking the car over on the ferry but those who were flying cant make it so its been cancelled. I bought new shower gel and everything

I had some rotten news today, the breeder who was gonna take my CLB boy has now decided he has enough Well, i suppose he has already taken 1 of mine.

Yeah, i was counting on him really. My neighbours parents have a small farm and he said hes sure his mum would take him but i know its for the table. At least hes had a nice short life Bless him

I believe there is someone on P P that takes in cockerells and rehomes them, I cannot think of their name though. Maybe ask redwing? I am sure she would know

Spoke to them before I started hatching last time and Beegal took my CLB boys and thats where Nugget (+ Pox) came from

 

Chicken steve also said he'd take some in when a friend got some ex-batts from him

Oh Thanks, probably miles away from me though. We did know when we decided to hatch eggs that 'the dirty deed' would have to be done and OH is fine with doing it, I just tried to find other homes first. The breeder was one option, the neighbour another and I have also got him on the Omlet marketplace. If all else fails, then OH is gonna have to do 'his thing' Sad, but we did go into hatching with our eyes open and cockerals are just a very unfortunate and noisy fact of life, Oh hum !

Ah well, anyway, how are you today? Im shattered, foots not too bad now, so had a very productive day, even cleaned out the fridge! Amazed we're not all dead from e-coli, the state it was in

Beegal is in Nuneaton and I think Lychgate is in Atherstone

If your boy is a good example it would be worth considering, as so many CLB boys get culled out there is a surprising amount of adult CLB boys finding homes
