Alis girls
Fingers crossed my hens arrive Wed. I have got a few bits off the newbie list on forum but wanted to ask - they are Omlet chucks I am having - will they have been wormed and if not how soon should i worm. Have got bark (couldnt get wood chipping but might change to auboise if I can find a place that does it. Also getting 2 bags of food to tide me over but have found a source, have got corn, grit and red mite powder. ready to shred paper for nestbox. Is it apple cider which you put in water for tonic or something else. Sorry I am asking sooo many questions.
Christian
You sound very organised They shouldn't need worming for a bit as they are kept in bio secure pens at HQ. Apple cider vinegar is a tonic that makes the gut less hospitable to worms. Good luck with the new arrivals! You'll need to change your name! Seagazer
Congratulations, you sound like you have everything under control. You'll definitely have to change your name now! It'll be strange to see your name and for you to have chucks!!
Alis girls
Thanks everyone and HQ sounds very posh how do you select which chucks go to which person or do they ask for volunteers? I cant see anyone putiing their wing up when my name was called
Space Chick
I'm sure there was a stampeed to the door when they announced your name - "What, her, she's finally ready, I want her to be my mum" Bet you can't wait
Plum
When mine came the man fished them out of a crate in the Omlet Van so I got to choose my gingernuts so I had one with white tail and one with black so I could tell them apart. I wonder if there are some feisty ones that can avoid being fished out of the pens at HQ and have lived there for years
