Wow thanks for all the votes, you're all very dedicated We've been away for the weekend so haven't been able to vote. I've just emailed hubby to find out if he's had an update, will let you know.

Had the update, apparently he's in 5th place, he needs at another 345 votes. The idea that took top spot last week had 669 points since Tuesday. In the email that go on about points and votes and I don't know what the difference is, it says his score since 6pm Tues is 94, the number of votes since 6pm Tues is 56 I guess if we just keep voting, we'll just wait and see what happens. I voted too - BUT would it not mean we would just end up with more private-means folk like David Cameron who were out of touch with real people?

I personally know 3 MPS - one SNP one LIBDem and one Labour cabinet minister (ok so I am a lawyer - shoot me!) and none of them went into politics for the cash. They are all men of great integrity and passionate about their respective beliefs. One of them is a bit thick, right enough (NOT the cabinet minister - he was a clever boy at Uni!)

ValerieR, errm I have no idea. I'm sure there are some politicians who do it as it is something they believe in, but the salary, second home and expenses must be a bit of a draw
