What makes a chicken coop easy to live with?

hi everyone.

 

well now the days are longer my girlies are still out & about when i get home from work, means i can stop them sleeping in the egg port

 

can i have ideas/ solutions on how to block the hole?

 

I've tried mesh but they seem to push it out the way!lol

 

was wondering about a sheet of something on the side of the roosting bars

 

just thought what about a cheapy ikea chopping board & sticky velco? do you think that could work?

If you have an Eglu,then a football or a flowerpot in the nesting box stops them.

If you have a Cube then you can block the hole with a ball of the right size - just remember to remove the blockage early in the morning,so they can lay again!

I've found a small trug to be the perfect size to fill the gap in the nesting box of a cube

 

I must admit that mine all sleep in the nesting box though.
