Raina
Hi all, Just a quick update The chicks are growing up fast They will all be 5 weeks old in a couple of days They no longer use the electric hen so i took that out a few days ago. They have all been sleeping in their run at night perching on their perches so i'll be using the small plastic eglu perch that i took out of the eglu give it a good clean with some Zoflora and put that in for them tomorrow. The chicks had some of the big girls corn today too and they loved it lol I'll be trying them with some mealworms tomorrow Will try and get some pictures of them later,Only 1 of them (Sylar) likes to be handled so they don't keep still lol Edited May 9, 2010 by Guest
Madchook
Sounds like they are growing fast Raina, have you figured out what you are going to do with all those boys yet? Are you going to keep the girl?
Raina
Hi Maddy, Yep we are going to keep the girl (still trying to get my mum to let me buy another ) I've found a home for all of the boys so they should be going to their new home when they are 10 weeks old? Lewis
They do grow up so fast! Good job the males homes are sorted, bit you only got 1 girl. Would be a shame not to get another girl
Madchook
Aw, you need another one! She should be grateful you only hatched one girl then, otherwise you could have ended up with far more....that would be my angle Well done on homing those boys, that is an achievement in itself! Raina
Thanks! The first person that was going to take them let me down but i found another place pretty much straight away If they let me down there is someone else that can take them too. I think my luck has started to turn around lol. My mum said if there is any way i could keep hold of 1 of the male chicks till all the intro's have been done she would let me but if not then she'll think about letting me get another female chick She said she's just worried in case i do get a new chick that we might be stuck with another chick on it's own if the intro's don't go to plan

cluckingmad
tough babies then Well done on hatching them, I'd love love love to hatch egg sout but hubby quite rightly pointed out that I'd be heart broke nif I had to cull any boys and I don't know enough folk to take them if I did end up with an entire batch of cockerals! Raina
My cousin has just phoned up my mum and said if he can sort some transport out he will take ALL of the chicks. He'll be taking little Sylar too so she'll have company now and not be on her own Think i might buy a lottery ticket this week
