The Dogmother
Is anyone else having problems with OneTel/TalkTalk? Phil has been without an internet connection or email for a week now, and their phone helpline (offshore) isn't any help either; they acknowledge that there's a problem and don't know when it will be fixed. He's having to log on down at my house.
myles
Clare, we don't use Talk Talk our selves for broad band, but were thinking of doing. I did a quick bit of research and found there are many unhappy customers with Talk Talk, on both broad band and email. Read about it on Money saving expert needless to say we're not changing. The Dogmother
Thanks Anne, I saw those comments. My provider is fine, but Phil is having a rethink.
ubereglu
We haven't been having probs with them. Just BT and our phone line, it's like crackle heaven and we know it's their phoneline and not our problem, everytime you phone them they deny it though! Martin B
We have talktalk and they're rubbish!
The Dogmother
Various people have said that to me Martin. I'm encourgaing phil to change his ISP, but his emial addy is tied to OneTel and he'd have to change that, which would mean re-printing all his stationery and business cards. Lesley
Liz - we've just had problems with BT as well, we've had to end calls because it was so bad. I had to borrow son's mobile the other day to order blinds because I couldn't get a whole sentence out without a sound like police sirens getting steadily louder or constant crackling noise or a clip-clopping like an old donkey. Carl reported it online - they confirmed receipt of complaint and corrected it next day They alos put us back onto Caller Display which we hadn't had since we moved - every time Carl phoned, they said we did have it. It seemed much easier by complaining online.
Paola
I am with TalkTalk and have had no problems. I have found also that they are much cheaper then BT
Looney
A couple of friends of mine were with Talk Talk (telephone plus broadband package) and had countless problems with them. A Talk Talk saleman came to the door a few months ago and when I said I wasn't interested because I had heard bad reports he acted surprised and said " I can assure you madam that we have only ever received half a dozen official complaints from people". Now, what are the odds of me knowing two of them?
Jaime
I'm with TalkTalk and I think they are amazing. This month my phone bill was a total of £22.90. This includes my 8meg broadband, Phone line rental, caller display and call package. I phone a friend in Australia every weekend and I am usually on the phone to her for about an hour, and my partner's brother in San Fransisco about once a fortnight. On top of that there's all my usual UK calls - and as my Mum is also with TalkTalk we could talk for 3 hours at a time free (If I could think of anything to say for that long). I dont think any provider can beat that........ however I have never had to use customer services. But I'm one very happy bunny - compared with BT the broadband was costing me £28.99 a month without anything else.
Jaime
I should also add that we have 4 computers wirelessly linked to the system and I've never noticed any slow connections or any other problems. Mega Happy

They also told us to report the fault on line, however we couldn't get online as we're on dial-up and the line couldn't come and would squeal like mad.
