scarlettohara
Just took a couple of eggs for my neighbour (they aren't very friendly but they can see the chickens) and you'd think I'd given him an unexploded bomb He did thank me but I didn't really think he meant it, I'll keep them for the nice neighbours in future

chicken bark
Maybe he's not used to people being nice to him.
Snoxy
I personally wouldn't offer any more I love to give my eggs away...but only to those who show a genuine interest in my chickens...and that doesn't included immediate neighbours sadly I give the lady at the end of the Close eggs as and when I have spares...she really appreciates them As a friend of mine often says...there's nowt queer as folk
Tony
I've never had any problem giving eggs away. One chap I know will only have slightly soiled dirty ones, says it a sure fire way of knowing they don't come from a shop. Mind you, he works for the Forestry Commission and is used to culling, peeling and butchering poor defenceless deer so a bit of chicken guano won't worry him. And now I've got 6 new Araucan's I've got a list of people who have put in orders for the eggs. Don't really want to give blue eggs away though so what's a reasonable price to charge, when they start laying that is? Help pay for the feed. Snoxy
I have never appreciated eggs so much since we got our girls I am planning to sell some of our eggs when they are all laying frequently...I have two green, one blue as well as cream, brown, white egg layers...am thinking i will sell the eggs in date order...so customers should more or less get a mixed colour box A friend has already said she will buy a dozen a week from me rather than the supermarket she usually buys from Although I love to give them away as I said previously, some money towards feed etc would be great I did read on another thread that people sell theirs for anything from £1-£1.50 How lovely...six blue egg layers
