poachedegg
The house in Fyfield, Hampshire, where the horses overlooked the back garden, that the Army couple picked is my sister in laws (OH's sister) house........they pulled out of the sale right at the last minute. It's never usually that tidy!

Lesley
I've missed it - I'll have to watch it on catch up. I was just thinking of this programme earler as well - our house was on the programme when Kirsty and Phil showed the camel people around - they didn't want it and we bought it later but before the programme was shown...........the lady who looked around came to our door tonight as her dogs have run off, she was very interested in what we've done here. batcatz
Yeah, I watched it last night. It's a lovely house. All I could think was... ooh loads of room for chickens..... and ducks! lol.
chickinboy
I missed it - BUT - I watched Escape to the Country (which is just like addictive torture for me) and they did the 'guess the price' bit right in front of an eglu in the garden. I think it was blue....which I didn't know existed...... I nearly wet myself...I don't know why.

It's never usually that tidy! Why did they pull out? They had gone back to view it again and just needed to "dot the i's and cross the t's" befor exchanging according to Kirstie. poachedegg
Yeah, I watched it last night. It's a lovely house. All I could think was... ooh loads of room for chickens..... and ducks!lol. There is loads of room - however unfortunately not inside......I'm used to Northern prices, so theirs with the small rooms always seemed quite pricey. That really annoys me, she should make her mind up and stick to it, not keep letting people down. Must cost her a fortune in survey fees! Lizzie50
I loved the house and the land - unfortunately, way out of my price band though! Wonder if ex Navy couple ever got their house ~ I liked them
bronze
I hate people who do that, as if there arent enough costs involved without causing innocent people to have extra solicitors costs
AJuff
Two years ago after months of searching we found our dream house in the country and our offer had been accepted. Within a week it was on relocation, relocation, relocation and sold to the couple on TV. We were gutted! The next day our buyer pulled out at last minute so we took our house off the market and built an orangery on the back. Still wish we had room for more hens and a few pigs but you can't have everything . . . . My heart will always be in the country but we live in town. chickenanne
We looked at a house a couple of years ago, which we loved. It went to a closing date. We got a survey done beforehand as it was so popular (at the closing date they had 12 - yes- 12 offers!). The highest offer was just OVER TWICE the asking price, with survey having been done. Their were about 6 offers close to that level, some with cash buyers and after a survey. At the time it wasn't unusual around us for houses to go well over "offers over" price to go far far higher - like 50% more. The vendor then decided not to sell after all (it was a holiday cottage) . So, 12 people all disappointed, and most of them out of pocket by the cost of a survey (old house, so many got the more expensive structural survey rather than simple valuation survey). We wouldn't have got it anyway as our offer was way lower than many others, but all the same.....
