Surely the chicken came first, like a cockerall and a hen? because if it was a hen then OK she could of layed a egg, but it wouldnt be fertilized?, but if it was a fertilized egg, how did it keep warm? surely there wasn't incubators!

Something, dinosaur or the evolutionary step before the chicken, will have been evolving and laid a mutated/evolved egg.

The chicken must have hatched out of said egg...

i had 32 children pop by (from my sons school, reception class) video and record me answering that question (bout 8 times as they popped round in small groups) oo the hens back on to their playground lol

I know it sounds weird but if you look at my young marsh daisys's when they raise their neck faethers they look like a velosauraptop (i think that is how you spell it).

 

 

They are basically dinasaur looking things so I think over the years and the birds got small the eggs changed and so did the birds.
