But anyway also How do i clean it properly i have cleaned most of it but it still has a bit left I heard about bathing and dont want to do it because of thw water proofing. Guest
Worming days start tomorrow. Verm-x said to do it on the same 3 days every month and it starts tomorrow until firday .
chickinboy
if they're due, then it could be that. I use verm-x too with no problems, but it's worth bearing in mind that others on here have still had problems, and that flubenvet is more effective. ...but then it could just be the weather and over enthusiastic dustbathing session. Guest
Yes the weather is horrible. Could it be a bit of stress aswell because we are having a new shed put in for them for a new home but the others are fine. Oh I dont know.
tom123
Verm-X is a herbal pellet that should prevent worms nut cure them and to be honest I haven't found it very good in keeping them at bay either! I recommend Flubenvent to be on the safe side.
Jools
There isn't actually a cure for worms as unless they are moved to fresh ground after worming, they will become reinfected. There are preventative measures such as Verm-x / ACV which help keep any worm burden down to a level that the chicken can manage. These seem to work better with more traditional ground management routines IMHO. Then there are treatments like Flubenvet / Ivermectin / Panacur that cause any worms present to be killed and expelled at the time of treatment, hence the advice to use two - four times a year (depending on circumstances). I believe that Nettex has a new preventative product out which includes a ground sanitiser, so I guess this one is somewhere between the two.
