SusieB123
One of my darling chooks has laid her 1st egg today and it is perfect. Bless her (whichever one it was). I am 6 days into a 7 day Flubenvet treatment for worms (which they def had) so not sure if I want to eat it or not but regardless I am soooo excited and proud. They are both 28 weeks so the egg is long overdue and much anticipated but even more exciting now it has finally arrived

theherd123
Good for you - did you do the egg dance?!
SusieB123
Thanks everyone - I danced like no-one was watching sadly the neighbours were I then proceeded to run around to show everyone, then took photos and texted everyone, then put it on Facebook, then on Twitter - sadly I don't know how to post pics on here otherwise you would all be subjected to my first egg piccies too
ISCA
Fantastic! There is no egg withdrawal period with flubenvent so it would be perfectly safe to eat. Wait 3 days though- they taste better then
SusieB123
Just had our 2nd egg but it was a softie and sort of incomplete - chook doesn't look too happy and looks like she could still be constipated. Is this normal?
SusieB123
She seemed really under the weather after the softie - but has now just passed an intact yolk and some poo and seems a lot perkier.
SusieB123
Plot thickens as I have dissected the softie and that had a yolk too so I have had a softie and a yolk - do you think it could be same chook or different chook?
Egluntyne
It could be the same one. Occasionally they have one or two in the pipeline, and look miserable until they have got shut of them.
