Chicken boarders

Have just checked the Merrydale Poultry website (Leics) and it says they have decided to stop selling POL hens That's where we bought Blanche from and I have been toying with the idea of adding to our flock in the future. Will have to find another friendly supplier in Leics now. Any recommendations welcome. I liked Merrydale as they were definately 'eglu' friendly

oh no, that's terrible, we just recently got hens from Karen and had no idea that she was stopping I have no idea where we'll get chickens from now

I know, I was only looking at their list of hens last week, thinking I really should go and have another look before they sold out and then tonight read the message that they have decided to stop selling hens Hoping someone comes along with another breeder recommendation. I liked Merrydale because you could just have a wander around and see all the hens without being jumped on

i spoke to karen a few weeks ago and she said she was giving up the birds. the internet business is doing really well, but she's finding that she hasn't had much family time in the last 5 years.

 

the other reason that really made her mind up was the theft of the chickens last year and at the moment she has a looming ciminal court case because of it

 

i'll pm the op with another number of a chicken breeder that i know in leics who has just supplied me with 2 new hens

I have just looked at Merrydale website and found out no more chucks. I can't believe it, other than the Omlet girls, our girls have come from there and Karen was always so helpful.

 

Where can I get new girls from now? Not that I am adding to my flock at the moment just like to plan ahead
