Mollie333
Anything i need to MAKE SURE the hens and chicks are OK in this warm lovely weather? (too hot for the chickens, if you ask them ) EDIT: Just seen the hot weather sticky, didn't see that before.. Also I have just hatched 4 chicks under a broody, now although in the shade, the wooden house they are in is getting really hot in there, i let Effy& 4 chicks out of the coop for a bit of time in the run.. they had a scrat around but Effy led them back up into the hot housing bit. Is this ok to be really hot and muggy? I dont fancy spraying them with the hose pipe.. there so tiny..
littlehenny
So long as they have got access to plenty of water and shade, they'll be fine !
The Dogmother
Mine tend to lay less in the really hot weather.

Mercedes55
I don't know what is normal for mine as I've only had them a week today, but out of 4 ex batts and I am getting 2 eggs every day and now they are laying them in the nest
madchickenlady
My girls lay less in the hot weather, and complain more! If it's really hot, I have been known to dunk their bums in a bucket of cool water. They also love frozen peas
