AJuff
If a fabric has a repeating pattern of 64cm what does this mean when working out how much fabric I need? If I need to join two pieces together to make a blind and I need 1.4m x 2 would I need to add on another 64cm? I'm a bit confused.
Couperwife
i think it means from the start of the pattern, to the start of the next pattern is 64cm. hold on - look at it like this 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 2 3 4 5 6 but yours is 64cm. i think i would add another 64cm (because i would be unlucky enough for it not to add up ) im sure someone else will come along and point you in the right direction (after my waffle ) cathy x
bigmommasally
I think Couperwife is right, if the blind you are making was 65 cms long and you needed 2 widths of material. You would go 1 cm into the second pattern on the first drop, so that the next 63 cms would be wasted as the start point for the next pattern and next drop would be 63 cms further down. Does that make sense or have I made it even more complicated!!

Valkyrie
Um, I usually buy far much more than I need - you never know when the left over bits come in useful!
