Hedgerow Bandit!!

Recommended Posts

After spending the weekend canoeing on the Wye, we were waiting for our lift at Monmouth when I noticed some fruit on the bushes nearby. On closer inspection (and tasting) I suspected some of them were Green Gages and the others were probably from the Plum family.

All tasted lovely and we've had no ill effects - also it was evident that the bushes had been picked previously as all the lower branches were bare.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what they might have been - unfortunately I did not take pic's before chucking them all in a pan for jamming.

Descriptions are - green small plums, which I think were Green Gages, something the size of a cherry that were the colour of a nectarine and tasted similar, and some that looked like peach coloured grapes.

Anyway, suggestions appreciated - and I'll bring a jar to Tasha's for the tombola!
