stehaggan
Hi guys as I've loved our first year allotmenting with the girls in their WIR their we have decided to extend it and double it in size for next year as our nasty neighbour is leaving wahoo So we will be wanting a greenhouse for our huge plot now and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations and if anyone has actually made one their selves? Preferably cheap recommendations as we will be having the most expensive allotment in history with our cube and classic on their Thanks
bronze
I have a greenhouse but if I was buying for my allotment now I would get a polytunnel
HappyhenSG
Hi, they often appear on our local freecycle/freegle group so it would be worth trying your local areas. Also, I'd try trade-it or the local free-ads. Or ebay - we just got one this evening 12 x 8ft at a fraction of the price when new
Lesley
You can find plenty of info on making your own polytunnel - probably a cheaper option.
stehaggan
I have sourced a 10 foot by 6 foot greenhouse for £110 with staging and drain pipes etc so think im going to take it, it has 2 opening air vents in roof and nothing seems to be cracked. Is it easy enough to put up a used greenhouse without instructions?
Redwing
Is it easy enough to put up a used greenhouse without instructions? NO! If you are dismatling it then thats easier, take a marker pen and mark all the bits and do a diagram to help you remember Doing it blind from a pile of metal is a nightmare! Cinnamon
Here is ours under construction last summer. Its made out of an old conservatory that my husband took down to replace...has auto opening windows & everything. We decided on the brick bottom to make it look nicer,& also to retain the heat. It looks much better now that it is properly finished & paved around it,but thought this photo might serve to inspire you,if you are handy

stehaggan
That is beautiful lol and it has inspired me. I went to see it and it is massive and in really good condition, the man is also giving me two water butts, lots of accessories inside including the paving stones an also a huge shelving staging So I snapped it up!
