Sooo much pooping

Hi,

 

I quite like the idea of getting some Brahmas to add to my flock but i'm assuming that i couldn't fit them in an eglu - or maybe just 2? What sort of house / run do they need, i'd be happy for them to roam around the garden as they can't escape so easily (from what i've read) and i don't think the cat would even try and catch one.

I wouldn't keep large Brahmas in an Eglu personally although I know people do. For 2-3 Brahma hens I would recommend a 3ft square house with a lot of headroom and a low, wide perch, biggg nest boxes (roughly 12-14 inches square) and a large pop hole.

2 Brahmas, probably about 2m x 2m? Depends on the FR time but any more is obviously better!

I have four LF brahmas and they live happily in the cubes which are inside a 5x7mtr w-i-r. I also have two cochins and the rest - see signature!

I have looked after a brahma for a friend who was on holiday, and it fitted in my spare Eglu OK, but I doubt you'd get more than 2 in.

Thanks for the replies - i'll be making plans to take over the garden and fill it with chickens without my husband and children noticing

The cube would be a better bet for Brahmas, as they are HUGE!
