We couldn't get any aubiose or hemcore today so OH picked up a few bales of rapport. Apparently it's made from rapeseed, I've never heard of it before. It was cheaper than the aubiose at only £6 a bale and the hens seem to like it so far. Haven't seen it mentioned on here before, so wondered if it was new.

Hello! I also struggle to get aubiose, in fact I've nver been able to get any. My local horsey place recommended Rapasorb which is also chopped rape straw with added citronella, so it sounds similar to Rapport. I can't compare it with anything else, never having tried anything else, all I can say is I've been very pleased with it, it does wonders at soaking up the poo in the poo tray and Iv also just put some in my eglu run. Think it was about £7 for a bale. Really pleased with it.

It's weird how hard it can be to source some of these products. I think Flyes do aubiose but the delivery price is quite high due to the weight of it. We got our aubiose from a place call Titmuss but they are a bit of a drive from where we are, they sell online too, but once again delivery costs an arm and a leg. Not sure what part of the country you are in but from what little I know it's a case of find a good horse shop.

I guess most of these things are very similar so really it doesn't matter too much which one you use. We don't really have a lot of horsey places in these parts so it was good to find one that is only about 15mins from us. Ordered a bag of ex batts food from them too, much easier than going all the way to the other place we bought from last time. I decided to go back to the crumbs after reading that link yesterday about it taking them longer to eat the crumbs therefore cutting down on any possible boredom time. I may have to put in more feeders though

????plenty of it in Surrey, not that that is any help,

I think if I recall correctly that when I looked at it I felt it was sort of more brittle and scratchy (if that makes sence) than Auboise)

Right now we have part of our run covered with aubiose and part covered with rapport and we both thought the aubiose was more brittle and scratchy

Today is the first day I've had to go and poo pick in the run since we put the aubiose and rapport in it. It was so much easier to do. Hard to believe that 4 hens can do so much poo in just one day mind you, but at least with this stuff now I can see it and it tends to clump up rather than make a big mess :D

Im in Gloucestershire, so no shortage of horsey places fortunately, but think aubiose is in very short supply at the moment, so not many places have it. That said, Im really pleased with rapasorb so dont think I'll worry too much about aubiose!

Yes, no new stocks until Mid-September due to shortage of the raw product.

My local country store (Frontier Agriculture on the A1) seems to have a good stock of Auboise, they also sell Rapport and Hemcore....they're all the same thing and do the same job!!

Though, I use Easibed for the WIR as it's cheaper! (though the chicks have Auboise, as it's softer on their feet!)
