the bradley bunch
sloping garden - check railway sleeper steps - check bark chippings - check plants - check rocks - doh! anybody know where i can find some rocks similar to the ones in the image above? or just any rocks that will do the job! i'd like them to be pleasing to the eye & give my rockery that 'natural' look...but really struggling to know where to get such a thing the only idea i've got so far is hubby's suggestion to drive to the welsh mountains and 'take' some from there but aside from the drive back to staffordshire with the weight of the rocks, the potential criminal record, and the fact that it's a ridiculous idea! i really don't think he's fully thought through how we'd get the rocks from the side of the mountain to the boot of his car so please tell me somebody has a better idea! i'll look forward to your replies! chicken bark
Our local builders merchants would have something like that. It'll look fabulous if you end up with something like the photo.
Willow
Ooo that looks nice. Didn't Geoff Hamilton used to make fake rocks ? (Not sure thats a better idea but it's an idea )
jess1merlin
Are there any quarries in your area that could supply you with the local stone
Snowy
I think most garden centres sell either real rocks, or tufa fake rocks. Ours certainly does
LuckyChickenLover-
Another vote for a garden centre here. Make sure you give us some pics when you're finished. It will look fabulous
Treekeeper
Geoff Hamiltons method was to dig a hole put in some plastic and then make a mix of cement sand and compost leave to go hard and then peel off the plastic which then leaves natural looking fissures he then painted them in situ with live yoghurt to encourage lichens etc they looked pretty good.
