Scotty
We have a little Lionhead, who is 4months old, she seems to nip the children. Is there something I can do to stop this? Is she just testing her teeth on us or should I be putting something in the run for her to gnaw on. scotty
lillybettybabs
Can you describe the nipping a bit more. Are the children approaching the rabbit and handling it? Or is the bunny nipping at the clothes when the children aren't looking?
Scotty
I would say nipping at the clothes, but sometimes skin gets in the way! I handle both the bunnies every day so that they can get used to us. does this help any?
lillybettybabs
Yes It sounds like she is testing and trying to work things out, Also they do it for attention.
Scotty
That is really interesting, she is definitely the more adventurous one, in fact was the one who had her foot bitten by a fox (poor thing) the other one (boy) is much more timid. She the first to come and greet us. Hey do you let your bunies run around the garden? and if so how did you first handle this? I let my hens roam when Im out there but just haven't felt brave enough about the rabbits.
lillybettybabs
Mine are house rabbits, our house is bunny proof so they get to roam around when we are at home, They have a eglu outside aswell. I don't let they bunnies free range as our garden doesn't have a sercure fence also i have numerous plant that are toxic to bunnies , the chickens F/R in a elecetric fenced area. Have a look at this. http://language.rabbitspeak.com/
