lougarbard
I cant answer your question, sorry! But this is something I would like to know too! He is a beautiful looking bird!
Mollie333
My Gold laced Wyandotte is making a kind of 'screeching' noise, at the moment. Think he might start crowing soon. Hes a bantam, and looks more mature, yet littler than yours.
miller30
I think it depends on the bird my pekin bantam crowed at 9 weeks old and i wasnt expecting him to start until he was about 16 weeks old leanne.

craftyhunnypie
My Bingo started his crowing at just 8 weeks of age. It was just a ugh uggggggghhhhhhhhh! That's how most start, it takes a while for the full doodle doo to follow. Bless! Emma.x
chuckmum6
Onion hasn't made a sound that I have heard, his bok bok voice has dropped. He is still a baby and at the bottom of the pecking order also he isn't very bright! Hopefully he will work out he is a boy, although if he doesn't crow that would be great , I guess he is a bit of a late developer which figures! Charlottechicken
I think the answer is - whenever they feel like it! I had three lovely cockerels hatch last year and the first one was crowing properly at 8 weeks. The last one to start crowing did so at 13 weeks and kept me in suspense for those 5 weeks! They were all Marans X. I think someone on the forum had a cockerel crow at two weeks.
jennydavies
Next door neighbours TWELVE cockerels are all crowing now at around 25 weeks. I know everyone will think crikey but we don't actually mind at all, we moved to rural france from a big traffic-noisy town (Romford, Essex) and we love the countryside and all of it's sounds. It does help that we retired early and don't have to get up for work in the mornings. I would much rather listen to coq's crowing, sheep bleating, cows mooing etc. than police sirens and traffic all day.
chuckmum6
Just to say Onion crowed this morning, a proper crow too, and not too loud (yet) I was starting wonder that he thought he was a girl. Now just waiting for his sister Sage to lay - no pressure
