Jaime
Should be an interesting discussion - I thought that the layers ORGANIC pellets that come with the chooks had everything in them that they need
Carolinep
I buy the organic layers pellets. We also buy some poultry corn (which they hoover up in no time!) and some crushed oystershell ... As well as treats of sweetcorn, salad, veggies and lots of other goodies
Helly Welly
I get non-organic layers pellets, non-organic corn and mixed grit.

Tara.F
my feeling is that whether or not pellets contain grit, and whether or not your chooks will freerange and be able to pick up grit for your garden....it costs very little and never goes off so buy some just in case. It's essential for their digestion so better to be safe than sorry I also use organic pellets because the whole point of keeping (for us) is to give our kids the highest possible quality eggs.
