Happy chickens!
Wow - amazing! (And the fact that you are so organised with your record keeping!)
beach chick
that IS amazing, I am dumbfounded by your record-keeping! how long has it taken for your girls to reach that?
Purplemaniacs
2 years and 7 months, started off with two omlet girls soon after that found two was not enough and got two more, then this spring we added four more. Sadly the two omlet girls are not longer with us. I weigh each egg and most eggs I can tell who layed them. Chrissie
beach chick
that's fantastic, did you start right from the beginning with your system? in the very early days I could tell who laid what, and I did use to pencil the date/name on them but soon gave up. I admire your perseverance!
Charlottechicken
Congratulations I am also in awe of your meticulous record keeping! I have no idea how many mine have laid over the years as I've never kept proper records.
joybelle
Ive kept chickens for three years and write in the diary the total number of eggs I get each day, ive being doing this since the original omlet girls started to lay. I do a weekly tally but never a yearly one. Joy xx
chicken bark
I've only ever weighed very large looking eggs or really small ones. Congratulations on your 2000th egg and congratulations for keeping records of them.
green
Wow, that's a lot of eggs! Inspired by your record keeping I decided to prepare myself for our first egg by making a very simple spread sheet to see how many eggs we get monthly/yearly and who lays them. Ready for the first egg, any day now... Come on chooks!
Purplemaniacs
Hi green I hope you get an egg soon to record on your database. I use a simple Excel database, it has to be simple as my Excel knowledge is limited. I keep a total of the eggs each girls has laid, their weight and record what their heaviest egg has been, also total for the month, year and grand total.
