Glug/grub stand in the omlet shop

Recommended Posts

I think I prefer the make do and mend approach myself, £15 is a lot for a bit of wire!

does anyone else not find the glug that brilliant either? I cannot get inside them to clean them out properly, so mine are covered in algae which I cannot get off for love nor money.

I dont use the Omlet feeders or drinkers any more, the dips at the back made them hard to clean, I use gravity feeders and troughs

I now have an assortment - a treadle feeder which is fine, except they dont get the hang of the treadle, so it's weighted down (durr!!), a big gravity drinker and a couple of small ones, plus 2 grubs and 3 glugs. I think I will eventually lose the glugs and grubs altogether - the move into the WIR will be the opportunity for a bit of shopping!!

hi chucky mama - well, apart from the fact they are too thick to use the treadle, I find it ok. definitely earwigs get in, but I just choose to look on them as extra protein. so far I have not had a problem with damp feed and it is now inside the WIR so should be ok. however, I think it might be broken, because every time I move it feed drips out the bottom...

I quite like the galvanised steel tho, never seem to get algae or dirt building up on it.

In Sainsburys there is a two pack of basics radiator airers very similar to these http://www.housecharm.co.uk/items/11-0000005206346/BQ-2-pack-Radiator-Airers.html for about £2.50. I'm sure they'd do the job very well.

I cut holes in the wire of my WIR to hold my 2 grubs, wish I

hadn't now

I did the same Jules, and also regretting it. Sorry but I think even £15 is a bit steep for a bit of wire, I may try the radiator airer idea too!
