Putting a pattern on a tshirt

Recommended Posts

I'm going to a sort of fancy dress Halloween virgin vie party (does that make any sense? )

So, I've got an orange tshirt that I was to do a Halloween pumpkin pattern on and wear it with black jeans (the lady who's do it is won't expect a full on witchy outfit and would die if I turned up like that  )

What is the best way of putting the face on the tshirt? Would it be cut out bits of black tshirt fabric? Or black cotton fabric? Do I need to use wonder web stuff on the back of the bits? Do I need to do it like appliqué (that's a weird word to try and spell  ) and zigzag all around the edge?

I'm sure that someone will come along at some point and know what I am on about

Thank you

Cathy

You could use any kind of black fabric and just iron it on with wondaweb. I wouldn't bother stitching it unless you really wanted to wear it it again and again :D What about black felt? just thinking the depth of colour may be better than other black fabrics which can be faded, or not very 'black' if you see what I mean.

you can get transfer sheets that you print your chosen image on (in reverse - there are settings on your printer specifically for this) and then iron it onto the tshirt. I was a bit dubious about these sheets by my DS did one for a school project and its quite impressive. We used a transfer sheet from Asda, so it doesn't need to be a pricey one :D
