Who actually *needs* a birth certificate?

Recommended Posts

All he has to do is go*HERE* and buy one. I've Birth, Marriage and Death certificates most of my relatives, cousins included. You never know he may just want to open a savings account, or start a trust fund even.

That site doesn't look very legit :?

This is the official site.

Yep I'm registered on that site too. Just counted all the birth certs I have its 61, its all getting very expensive. So much so that I won't add up all the marriage and death certificates....

Control springs to mind!

Researching family trees etc people can pay to get hold of it. Tell him you are too busy devoting time to your baby to be worrying about his requests. Tell him to forget it and stop going on.

My in laws wouldnt acknowledge the names we chose for my eldest son and OH family called him by different names they thought we should have given them, with religous meanings! It really got on my nerves. Funny we dont see them anymore, and we dont miss them!

The only thing is sometimes people make better grandparents than parents. My mother did she always told us not to have children and then was the most fantastic wonderful Nanny.

Enjoy your baby, we banned visitors unless it suited us for a couple of weeks as well. Good luck

Blimey, thought it was only my in-laws that did this ! FIL called my ES by a similar name that was less 'ethnic' for a few years and when he once complained that my ES didn't answer he I took delight in explaining that was because it wasn't his name

Haven't seen it Egluntyne. What happens?

The assassin creates a false identity (passport etc) by sending for the birth certificate of a child of a similar age to himself, who had died in early childhood.

It happens in real life too and they are called 'Day of the Jackal' cases (ID cases not the assassin part :) )

Endured a visit today and it turns out he wanted to set up a surprise bank account in her name, but I 'blew that' so he had to set one up in his name that he will give her the funds from in a few years.

Or, he could have discussed it with us and not been so hung up on the surprise element...

On the plus side, I can resume non-contact for a bit for peace of mind.
